They're so expensive because people are idiots and overpay for products just to feel Superior to other people.

I bought a pair of cool sun glasses for $4.99 . Why on earth would anyone spend thousands for a pair? Status ! I don’t care about status.

Appears to be a violation of our Anti-Trust Laws. They are a "MONOPOLY"!, and can easily destroy "any competitor" or buy "any competitor".

I worked for a brand management company and guess what... everything (all the brands) you see on the supermarket shelves are owned by 3 large companies: nestle, craft and PepsiCo. it's yet another illusion of choice we have. you wanna know who actually.rules the world , look up CEOs and people.behind these monster brands.

People are buying a name because they want to be part of the "Ray Ban cult." Only independent people refuse to tie themselves to fashion cults.

Man, that CEO was dancing all around those questions and didn't really answer them at all. HE SEEMED SHADY. He was squirming in his chair like the WORM THAT HE IS. ☹. That Leslie Stahl woman STUCK HER FEET IN THE FIRE. GOOD ON HER✊

I always lose or break the expensive sun glasses. But those $4 PUGGS I bought that one time at the gas station on that road trip will probably survive the apocalypse..

I bought my last pair of glasses online for less than $20 delivered. No one would ever know they didn't cost hundreds. I just went to one of those big chain vision stores today to get a new checkup. You should have seen the dirty look I got when I told her I just wanted to pay for the exam and get a copy of my script. There was some 80-ish woman sitting there getting glasses and I have no doubt she ended up paying $300 or more for a pair. Hard to believe everyone doesn't buy online these days -- we are 20 years into the internet after all.

I bought my first two pairs of prescription glasses at Lens Crafters for a little over $300 per pair and that was with their cheapest titanium frames at $200. However, today I buy titanium frames at Walmart for $70 and take them to my guy at Hot Shots Eyeware Repair in Carlsbad, Ca., along with my prescription. He charges me $45 for a pair of bi-focal, high index [scratch resistant] lenses and they are ready in 2 days. Total cost = $115. I can buy three pairs of glasses for about what one pair of glasses from Lens Crafters would cost and enjoy even better quality.
