My thoughts on Billy Dee Williams' possibile return in Star Wars Episode 9

Something I thought about: What if this was an elaborate troll job by JJ Abrams? What if a large part of Episode 8 including Snoke's supposed death...was really an illusion. We can see Disney would try something like that given their similarities with the First Order so it's interesting to ponder. What if Leia never really floated? What if the Star Destroyer we saw didn't instantly explode Dragon Ball Z style....And all of that was part of a Snoke holodec illusion too...? What if even some of the corny scenes, where Finn easily takes down a large cruiser in front of Starkiller base as he blows up Starkiller in Force Awakens....are all an illusion? Which means that, even Han Solo's death possibly is a troll job aka the biggest illusion ever sold.....A couple of things had got me thinking about such possibility, after the plot holes in TFA and TLJ continue to make no sense. One was Abrams giving an interview in Wired Magazine three years ago, where he all but confirms Snoke is a dark force super user ala Darth Plagueis. In the Expanded Novels Plagueis was the only dark side user who could create illusions so flawless, they'd appear very real... To what end, I do not know...But it deserves comment. It would certainly be the most sinister plot device ever seen in history of Cinema, and someone like Disney likes that stuff...

Billy Dee is 81. He could die like Carrie Fisher and be made into a humiliating meme just the same. Be wise, Billy. The vibe at Disney Lucasfilm is so evil. Nothing good can come of this.

Yeah Billy Dee, just stay out of it. The only reason you're gonna be in it is to lure fans in, and to kill you off.

I dont see the point tbh. Most of the original main characters are dead and the main character from the first three films will only be able to come back as a force ghost to give off expository dialogue. They should just leave lando alone and let the newer characters take over... oh wait, they ruined their newer characters, so no one cares for them anymore. Hollywood has no originality and will only bank on nostalgia and cheap shock. They think bringing back lando will bring in more fans of the OT when they should just focus on coming up with an interesting story for Finn, Rey, and Poe (and rose if you're a tico fan). It's shouldnt be that hard to tbh...

Too little too late Lucasfilm. Of all the stupid decisions Lucasfilm made with this trilogy, not getting all the main cast back together one last time is the most glaring.

Billy Dee needs to do the smart thing and stay FAR away from Disney Star Wars. They'll just emasculate him and kill him off to make room for the "cool hip new characters" - guaranteed. It's what they've done with every single established male character in Star Wars. Emasculate, then kill off. Even. Ackbar. No, it's best for him to let his Lando live on in legacy and not allow Disney to destroy him, too, the way they tried to with Solo by turning him into a robot-humping pansexual weirdo. As for myself, unless they bring Luke Skywalker back to life - not bring him back as a force ghost - not as a flashback - no, no, no - back to LIFE - and redeem him somehow - which we all know is not going to happen - I'm not seeing Episode 9 in theaters. It's as simple as that. I'm not interested. They killed Han. They killed Luke. Carrie Fisher is gone. So, in a very real sense, Star Wars died with it and all we are left with is this hollow, lifeless SHELL with HUSKS of characters wandering its vapid, endless wastelands in the form of Rey, Finn, Poe, and Rose. They aren't even pale shadows of Han, Luke, Leia, Obi Wan, Lando, Vader, etc. They're not even CLOSE. So Star Wars died with Luke Skywalker. That's the truth of it. The Star Wars films - the numbered films - are a dead beast and 9 will not change that with a Yoda cameo, or a Luke force ghost scene, or even by dragging Billy Dee Williams into it (and I'm sure murdering him too). There is LITERALLY no reason for any of you to see Episode 9. Let's cover the possibilities for 9 to see what I mean: REALISTICALLY, only a few things are going to happen: 1. Rey and Kylo meet again and fight, Kylo is the villain. Rey redeems him. Nobody will care because Kylo is NOTHING. Rey is NOTHING. They are motes of dust. NOTHING. NOBODIES. They don't matter. These are not the droids - or characters - we were looking for. 2. Rey turns to the dark side and Kylo is the one to turn her back. Same thing. Doesn't matter. It literally doesn't matter what happens between these two husks of characters. 3. Rey and Kylo both die - again nobody cares 4. Rey and Kylo fall in love - only the weirdo fan fiction people will be into that trash. Maybe they'll have a pointless baby that has insane force powers. Nobody will give a shit. I mean there's REALLY nowhere for this story to go anymore, not with the more interesting villain gone, Han gone, Luke gone, Leia gone - nobody CARES what Finn and Poe and Rose are up to. Nobody CARES because they literally do not matter at ALL in the scope of things. You could erase all of them and it really would not matter. Kylo, Rey, all of them, gone, and it wouldn't MEAN ANYTHING. So yes, I implore people to keep the boycott strong and let Star Wars die as Disney has tried SO hard to "let the past die". If you support 9, you only invite them to keep doing more of the same. So, it's time to make 9 the biggest lesson they will EVER learn. They may think SOLO is a fluke - that it couldnt' happen again, not with a numbered, main-line Star Wars film. Imagine their shock when they realized that 9 was also a massive flop. It would be GLORIOUS for we, the fans. Don't forget Last Jedi. Don't forget what they've DONE. Do not for a moment let them sucker you into seeing 9 - no matter HOW tempting the trailer they put out looks. Just wait a month and see it on redbox.

I do think that disney would be kinder to Blliy Dee Williams because of his 'minority' status (unless he came out republican or something like that). I also wouldn't blame him for doing it for the money so his family will be better off after he passes (let it be a long while away). But he would need to keep his head on a swivel at all times, and if he's not desperate he shouldn't touch this with a ten foot cattle prod.

Hey, you forgot they also killed off Admiral Ackbar in a mere cameo. Lucasfilm is once again baiting fans to get excited to see another Star Wars episode. The Force Awakens hyped the return of Luke, Han, and Leia, and all three were never seen together. The Last Jedi teased fans with an epic return of Luke, and, well, we all know what happened. Yoda and Lando returning for the final episode reeks of the same tactic used before. The new characters are so bland and underveloped, the movies would’ve completely tanked without the Original Trilogy cast. I’m not falling for their trap again.

Please Billy don't do it. You may have betrayed our heroes but you're better than this.

Perfect analysis, bud. I made a meme few months back of Chewie and Lando in the Falcon, and Lando says to the cookie, "You DO know we're next, right?"

Lando could be Gold! Just imagine this! Lando is so excited upon coming across the Millenium Falcon, that he can't wait to shove his penis up the ships exhaust port!

They've already fundamentally changed another character from my childhood. Ask me last year if I would like Lando back, I would've said "Yeah!", but they messed with the source material. I have no problem with a diversity of characters, I have a problem with blatant pandering and messing with the source material. As a matter of fact, in order to fix Solo, I'm gonna pull a Nando V movies and propose one simple change: Don't have Droids fighting for rights, don't have Lando wanting to bone a droid. Instead, have TWI'LEKS fighting for their rights and have Lando hook up with a Twi'lek. Twi'leks have already had a problem with being enslaved, and for a reason, unfortunately. The men are great workers, and the women, well... Ya know. That way, they could stay true to the source material, and have their message that they're trying to send. It would've run a lot better with audiences, I guarantee it.

Like I said in the comments for the other video, the logical thing would be to have retired General Lando come back to lead the Rebellion. However, that's not the way this current Lucasfilm regime works. Oh no, we can't have a filthy man lead the Rebellion. He will be ruined and disrespected like Han and Luke was. They will make him subordinate to some new SJW character, most likely a bitter coward like Luke and an unsuccessful smuggler like Han, who is always owing debts and on the run from his employers. Let us remember Lando as he was: A HERO of the Rebellion, the man who led the fighter attack and destroyed the 2nd Death Star at the Battle of Endor. But we know how Jar Jar Abrams works, look at how he destroyed Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and even R2D2. It blows my mind how they've even relegated R2D2 to nothing in order to showcase the new droid BB-8.

This is great, it looks like they regret killing off the classic characters. Who's next the one armed fella that didn't like Luke in a new hope.

Bother, i am not going to see Ep. 9. This trilogy is unfixable and they will make it worst.
