  • A somber statement about the possible dark days that could await us here on earth if we don’t change our polluting ways. I look out over the horizon. A new day begins. The sun comes up behind dust covered mountains. Animals gazing in the green. The farmer sows the seed. Rivers are flowing. The wind is blowing gently. But when I look more closely, I begin to see a world colored black with pollution and debris. I woke up this morning and looked out my window. I saw a red sky. But I can remember a long time ago it was crystal blue. I woke up this morning only to find a sky no longer blue. I turn around look to the west. A big forest was there. But now it is gone. I remember it was green. The chemicals are in the soil. The smoke is in the air. Acid rain falls down and poisons all around. The oceans are all dirty. The fish are slowly dying as an oil covered blanket spreads about the water. I woke up this morning and looked out my window. I saw a red sky. But I can remember a long time ago it was crystal blue. I woke up this morning only to find a sky no longer blue.
