Peter Strozk testimony at House committee hearing resumes as FBI agent faces more questions

  • Streamed live on Jul 12, 2018

Morning Testimony had been slowed by bitter partisan arguments among the members on the panels. Trey Gowdy's exchange with Strzok took up the majority of time at the very start of Thursday's hearing. At one point, after just one member had questioned Strzok, the panel voted on whether to subpoena former White House strategist Steve Bannon. Watch the exchange between Gowdy and Strzok here:

FBI official Peter Strzok gives testimony to a hearing of both the House Judiciary and House Oversight committees. Strzok is publicly defending his actions during investigations of both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election. Strzok's anti-Trump text messages fueled suspicions of partisan bias over the course of the 2016 election and Hillary Clinton email investigation. Follow live:

I'm no fan of trump, but we can't excuse deliberate FBI bias. Investigations should be impartial, and and deliberate attempts to obstruct this pursuit of truth should be bipartisanly condemned. Equality under law is a core virtue of any rational person. Even if you are so passionate about getting Trump out of office, you do realize using slander to do so actually reinforces his fake news narrative? Trump raises NATO spending and he's accused of slamming NATO as a Russian Spy, Trump removes a Clinton law that separates illegal immigrant's children and he's accused of separating children. Being dishonest does not help your cause, and you should not condone this blatant act of bias. In this comment section there's an astonishing amount of arrogant radicals who believe Strzok is some American hero for injecting his personal agenda and obstructing truth. They use the word facts without citing any, an incredible display of narcissism with no self-awareness in sight. Please withhold your "Trump is Putins puppet." type comments until there is actually some proof that Trump colluded with Russia to "hack" the election.

An "IQ" test should be mandatory for vetting candidates running for Congress and other high-level positions, prior to an election.

Funny how a whole lot of people at a whole of of American Justice/Intelligence branches are acting in a lot of ways they don't normally do. I think this is pretty clear evidence of the bias against Trump in these institutions . I don't like Trump, but even I see the ridiculous bias not only of some in these agencies, but also of some in the congress hearing, that they will place their hate of Trump ahead of any moral responsibilities to their office or the American public. Where was the FBI investigation when Obama got caught for the world to see colluding with the Russians prior to his second election, whispering to the Russian PM "I'll have more flexibility after the election" with the Russian PM replying "Excellent! I will report this to Vladimir (Putin)"? Seriously, google it. Yet nothing from these agencies who are now so worried.

The Republicans have abdicated their responsibility and should bow their heads in shame for this farce. And as they become aware of the monster they made President, instead of doing whats best for the country they run away and don't seek reelection. They will pay for this for many years to come, but if they continue to do nothing then they will not come back ever. It's bad enough that we have a president that is a lying treasonous Russian wannabe, we will be fixing this black period in our history long after he is gone and it will be that much longer if the Republicans continue to abdicate their responsibility.

The panel can go on & on with their questions, where they ask the same ones repeatedly ( mostly the cause of 10 hours of questioning) & Peter is never allowed to completely answer any of them. It was not carried out professional at all. Furthermore the panel should not be allowed Peters personal phone/text records at all by Americans rights. If they did get I think the public should hear all of Goodlatte's, & the rest of questioners personal info also.

I am not entirely sure who's right or wrong here but I think that Peter Agent Strozk already clarified that everything will be revealed at the end of investigation and that it is fbi policy for them to do just that. And that as everyone knows especially from the FBI is that their agents especially Mr.Peter Agent Strozk even if having his own personal beliefs and opinions about president trump and other things should and is not affected by work related matters. Im 14 by the way so please give me your opinions as well or someone elaborate me of what's up if i'm wrong.

This interrogation was hosted by biased committee members and they were only interested in persecuting the witness. They are trying to discredit the current FBI investigation had not happened yet when Strozk wrote private emails reflecting his opinion, so how can Gowdy use the argument that this investigation was rigged from the beginning when Trump had not even won the election yet? You should have heard what i emailed to my friends when Trump 'won'. Strzok had good reason to have those opinions. It was not good judgement to say it in an email, but...he's not a criminal nor did he do a dang thing to discredit the current investigations.
