Anthony. I have taken back to Walmart two VHS to DVD Sanyo recorders because they did not work. I had even called customer service for help. They told me to take it back. I went online and saw that Toshiba 620 was recommended. So I went to Best Buy and purchased it. However, after hours of trying and throwing away multiple disks that did not record, I finally went on YOUTUBE and saw your video. OMG... the directions in both Sanyo and Toshiba manuals have told me to select DVD and push the record mode... THEN go on to select VCR and select "play" THEN push the dubbing button. Your video tells me not to push record mode on DVD but to begin the VHS tape and push Dubbing button. AFTER HOURS AND HOURS (I am persistent) of following the directions from those manuals, I did what you said and IT IS WORKING!!!!!!! Both the SANYO and TOSHIBA companies need to edit the directions and hire you as a consult!!!!

Hi I enjoyed your video's . I was wondering if you could tell me how to record from the TV to DVD. using this same combo recorder? I did record a TV show but I can not play it back on anything else except for the TV using the recorder. I used a DVD-R to record and did finalize it. Still can not get it to play on my computer or DVD players Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong. thank you have a nice day  Debbie

Your instructions are perfect. Thank you for the great help. Saved me alot of grief. I want to know the steps to TITLE the DVD: Just want to enter the year of the home movie and the ages of the kids. The directions in the manual are maddening. They explain about making chapters and all kinds of fancy editing that can be done. But how to simply add a title? Thank you.

The only thing it cannot do is transfer commercially released VHS tapes to DVD because of Copy Protection.

I also have a Magnavox, and everything is fine until the finalizing. Seems when I keep pressing Setup, the setup screen isn't popping up so I can't finalize the disc. Help?

I followed your very instructive help to transfer - unfortunately I cannot see the narrative on my screen i.e. setup etc.  I have copied the vhs but am unable to finalize it.  Not sure what is wrong.
