Academy Award-Winning Director Murray Lerner (Mao To Mozart, Festival!) creates a masterful addition to the Isle of Wight canon of films with Joni’s excellent performance. The concert/documentary film features Joni Mitchell in a modern interview, explaining the events and her reactions. The complete performance is also intercut with vintage footage from the festival attendees and the promoters to give better context to Joni’s personal recollections from the Isle of Wight in what is one of the most unique and memorable performances of the era. =================================== Subscribe:

I know this will age me, but I was there! There's a lot of myths and misconceptions around that particular festival - The so called protest "free festival" angle was hugely exaggerated - we saw about 10 (French) protesters, out of 500,000 music fans! Another was the hard time given to Joni. I would have loved to have listened to her set, but like most of the audience, the sound system was so poor, we couldn't hear a thing!! The wind seemed to divert the sound up onto the hill ," Desolation Row" where non ticket holders got the benefit! Any discontent was largely based on that alone. So, I shall look foreward to belatedly hearing the wonderful Ms Mitchell's previously unheard set!!
